Inspiration was all around us! I met so many incredible and inspiring people doing amazing things for our wildlife and conservation. It was so much fun I think everyone who attended is still buzzing with enthusiasm.
The night was hosted by Global Ambassador for The Wildlife Warriors, Tim Dormer and Wildlife Warrior Goddess Stacey Thomson or known as Ranger Stacey to most of us. The night kicked off in true Wildlife Warrior style with the guests being greeted by some of Australia Zoo's favourite animals including some of my personal favourites April and Saskia the koalas.
As Bindi Irwin is quoted saying "Khaki is an attitude" so naturally the colour theme for the night was a touch of khaki and we were all given a little khaki ribbon to wear proudly on the night in honour of Steve and The Wildlife Warriors.
There were some incredible young Visionary Wildlife Warriors awarded on the night. Corey Roff from Brisbane and Braden Benz from Louisa, Virginia, USA. Both these young men have made such a big difference by educating their peers and taking care of their local surroundings and wildlife. Very inspiring young men! Proof that we can ALL make a huge difference no matter what age. We are all in this together.
I loved the stunning tributes to Steve. Throughout these tributes I don't think there was a dry eye in the room and for good reason. What a positive and beautiful life Steve lived.
There was a lot of passion and energy flying around that room throughout the night and the night ended up in total celebration mode with everyone really letting loose and carving up the dance floor!
The floral table centrepieces that were created by Australian Farm Forestry will also be a beautiful symbol from that night that will now live on with eucalyptus plants included to be taken by the guests and replanted. Yes, I may have taken a couple.
I left that night feeling more inspired than ever and more determined to continue my mission as an advocate for our koalas. I also left with many new inspiring Wildlife Warrior friends.
